That is an excellent question. We had a conversation a while back, in which Pietro and I were almost literally forced into a room together, and it seemed to end in a…well, a bridge being crossed for the better.
However, I haven’t spoken to him in quite some time. I imagine we are still on fairly even ground, as far as our relationship is concerned. I have heard no news to the contrary. Though this Avengers issue is presenting a bit of a step backward.

Whenever Magneto is in Battle, it’s never just a fight—it’s a show. He uses his opponent as an example, if they choose so strongly to oppose him. And although murder is never his first choice, if he is threatened or infuriated by whatever decides to fight him, he really won’t lose a wink of sleep by putting them six feet under.
The only exception to this is the people that he considers ‘close’, and his children. He is still entirely ashamed of his role in the House of M universe — from actually considering Wanda’s death a viable option to causing Pietro’s. Although knowing the world was a fake, he considers the idea that ‘anything you are willing to do in a fantasy, you are willing to do in reality’. And to him, the fact that he took his own son’s life without so much as a moment’s hesitation, and for no better reason than ‘I was angry’, will haunt him for the rest of his days.
And while Wanda stripped him of his power, she did him perhaps the greatest good anyone every could have: In taking his power, she forced him to realize that without it, he literally had nothing. He’d put his cause before everything, and in doing so, sacrificed everything that could have been true in that ‘perfect world’.
Since retrieving his powers, he has and will continue to re-learn that his family should and can be his absolute priority, while still maintaining his purpose in a more morally acceptable manner.

I am a combat instructor yes. Though I work for SHIELD. Though I suppose I shall attempt to remember he is merely a boy, Father.
That’s all one can ask a father to do in such a situation.
